About
Me

As a child I loved to dance and make music. But only much later I discovered my passion and talent for singing. After graduating from Heinrich Heine Universität Düsseldorf with a master’s in German Literature I took up my singing and vocal pedagogy studies which the soprano Rachel Robins at the Folkwang Hochschule Essen and finished with adiploma in 2004. I concluded my studies with the Australian mezzosoprano Liane Keegan. Her passionate and individual approach to teaching singing influenced my own teaching immensely. My wish is to support my students in their vocal process continuously and to always respond to them as individuals.

Furthermore my teaching was influenced by Thomas Heyers functional vocal work, and masterclasses with Klesie Kelly, Jessica Glynn and Cornelius Reid. I also draw upon diverse body and mind disciplines such as TaiChi, Yoga and Feldenkrais in my approach to singing. A vocal technique that is founded on the extension of free natural movement* enables the freedom of full vocal expression. Body&mind disciplines can complement the process of developing a naturally vibrating, well-coordinated and healthy voice with a free and healthy airflow. I have several years of experience as a singing teacher at the Chor Singschule Himmelfahrt under the direction of Prof. Werner Schepp in Mülheim-Saarn. I was able to gain a lot of experience whilst working with the children and young people of the Chor Singschule. Children’s voices naturally respond to a teaching approach that is authentic, intuitive and imaginative – essential for a personalised teaching approach. I have worked with many choirs, either project-oriented or on a regular basis, such as with Profaner Chor Bochum, Propsteichor St. Augustinus Gelsenkirchen, TAO-Chor Düsseldorf, Chor St. Mariä Himmelfahrt, Mülheim-Saarn and Chor St. Theresia von Avila, Mülheim-Selbeck. I also offer voice training such as for FIM e.V. – Vereinigung für Frauen im Management. In my voice training the focus lies on encouraging a free, natural speaking voice, developing more body voice awareness and enabling free expression and self confidence. I also regularly perform as a soloist in oratorio and concert. My repertoire includes J.S. Bach: Magnificat, G.F. Händel: The Messiah, G.B. Pergolesi: Stabat Mater, W.A. Mozart: Coronation Mass, W.A. Mozart: Requiem und F. Mendelssohn-Bartholdy: Elijah.
